C'mon baby. It's happening. The housing market is now truly poised to crumble under it's own wait. It will topple now if you just blow on it. Think real. Look inside your heart and you know it to be true.
There is not one economic indicator that would suggest that anybody should buy now. The only thing to fear is fear itself. Housing prices aren't going to go up, unless just enough stupid people buy, or, uh, are swayed easily by the desperate NAR.
...and even the cynic inside me knows that that decision is being taken out of the hands of the stupid. The stupid bought high and now are getting roasted and cannot pay their mortgages or, at best, won't be bringing their family to DisneyWorld anytime soon.
People, don't be a statistic. Have a nice, well rounded, fulfilling life.
Don't buy now at these ridiculous prices.
...you'll will be very, very sorry.
It's going down, down, down my friends. |

Hi, My wife and I recently bought in Billerica. Taxes were lower and quaility of life is pretty good. We will leave the state when ever I can get a transfer. It is too expensive to live here. If there are not close family ties or great economic reasons for staying, I think moving is a good option.
I have recently started looking for a condo again after waiting for several months for prices to come down to a more affordable level.
I have been looking in Northern Mass, Haverhill, Salem, Lynn area. It seems as if the properties which are the least attractive, run down, on busy streets or shoebox size have come down in price. However anything even remotely desirable is still way overpriced. In Dorchester where I currently rent, I have seen "handiman specials and fixer uppers" for about $200,000. No bargains here.
If anything it seems that prices are higher than ever and I am still priced out of the market even in the working class neighborhoods where I have been looking.
I am beginning to think that renting is my only real alternative unless I choose to leave the state. The bubble bursting, crash or even a significant softening of the market has never happened and at this point it does not seem like it will. Any thoughts on this?
|
