In the January report by the MAR, they left off the inventory numbers. I've been graphing price and inventory. Does anybody know where else I can get these numbers?
Thanks |

I don't see it. Where is the text you're referring to? It looks to me like they have removed the inventory numbers as well as their talking points. Are you looking at the report on this page?: http://www.marealtor.com/content/monthly_reports.htm

They included total number of SFH and Condo's together here.
http://www.marealtor.com/content/press_room.htm?page_id=741&inCtx7pg=0&inCtx7news_id=348&inCtx7view=24&inCtx7order_by=S:[start_date]%20desc&site_id=1&minor=0&major=2&inCtx7news=2
They also give months inventory so you can calculate the number by using the monthly sales data.
The inventory of residential properties (single-family detached homes and condos) on the market decreased 16.2 percent in January 2007 compared to the same time last year (from 51,122 listings to 42,794 listings in 2007). At the current sales pace this represents 10.7 months of supply, a decrease from 14.6 months of supply in January 2006. It is considered a balanced market when there is between 7.5 and 8.5 months of available housing supply. Residential properties did stay on the market an average of 142 days in January 2007 compared to an average of 104 days in January 2006.
Rather slimey in my opinion but its there. I had been keeping track of SFH's only and I don't see how you can get that data from their stats. |
