Looks like Austin is rewriting their 30-yr old land development code and is holding a few meetings for public education and input. They're even providing free daycare so everyone can attend!
Should be enlightening I think and am looking forward to attending. What do you all think? Do you all have any experience with this elsewhere? What kinds of comments do you hear and attendance do you see? How can I best prepare?
I'll see how it goes but am planning on focusing on the need for evolving density and planned changes to character to accomplish that, maybe citing a few specific projects around here like that. Making it easier to rezone chunks of land and hard to build low density expensive things. Setting land aside for urban transportation. |
