That's actually exactly what the Reference Suggestions forum is for. I've moved this post to there for you. Thanks for the link.
There is also a Quick Add link at the top of the news section on the main page, which you can use to quickly suggest links for the news feed. Local news is typically preferred there and there are generally only a few links that get selected per day, so the Reference Suggestions forum is safer in the sense that there is no moderator delay or pre-approval. Plus, the forums are monitored just as frequently as the link suggestions, so any links you post in the forums have an equal chance of making it onto the news feed.
