It's amazing how many luxury rentals are available in Massachusetts today and the interesting background some of these properties have.

I found a good list of high end rentals at http://www.luxuryboston.com/SearchResults.htm?pg=1

One of the first interesting listings is 74 Beacon 1st Floor can be yours for $40,000 per month which seems like a steal.

The history of 74 Beacon is: it was put up for sale 09/01/2009 Listed for sale $14,950,000 and then again in 2010.
When you look up the county records there looks to be a Municpal lien by the City of Boston for $19,000 in unpaid taxes.

How about 40 Beacon Street - Unit 1 can be rented for $17,000 month, this currently has a Mortgage of $1,836,000.00 and property taxes are $31,000 per year.

Are there enough people who can pay $8,000 and up to keep these properties afloat????
