				| Amit, sounds great - glad to have you with us. If you want to email me at admin@bostonbubble.com , I will send you my cell number and let you know the name the reservation will be under (once that's figured out).
I think everybody else that's coming either has my cell number already or knows what I look like. This is what I have for the attendee list tonight:

If anybody else is interested, this is the last call. Either balor123 or I plan to make a reservation soon.

Checking in about tonight's gathering, is it still on for 7PM at Punjab at 485 Mass Ave in Arlington? If so, guess this evening is separate from the event being organized on Boston Bubble MeetUp on October 8:

 Meetup.com/Boston-Bubble/. [/quote]

 1. Want to call this to your attention:

 Wall Street Journal @WSJ
President Obama is holding a housing Q&A online using questions submitted with #AskObamaHousing. http://on.wsj.com/15AgDHE

Should we coauthor some questions at tonight's Boston Bubble MeetUp to ask President Obama during tomorrow's housing Q & A online? It's difficult to track the 1,200+ comments and questions on @Zillow's Facebook page http://bit.ly/AskObamaHousing so I'd like to invite homebuyers in Boston and other overheated housing markets to ask questions, vote and comment on others using the collaborative platform on our blog post today:

 http://bit.ly/SubmitQ

 2. As I have written BostonBubble.com's admin privately, I haven't Tweeted anything about tonight's dinner or the MeetUp because I want to lay low and see if the group grows organically, hopefully virally on it's own.

I'd also like to raise questions about the best way to involve real estate professionals. Allowing agent and investors, etc. to participate could have unintended consequences and raise questions about whether the event will be peer-to-peer or agents demonstrating their expertise, directly or indirectly, to recruit clients.

Of course that applies to me, so I invite comments on my own potential attendance, and active involvement tonight or at future Boston Bubble MeetUps. More broadly, does it make sense to develop a participation policy for broker / real estate professions, investors, etc?

Real Estate Cafe has got lots to contribute, potentially, but my own experience is that MeetUps can be meandering, disjointed mosh pits of sound bites particularly if
 they are over food.

Has the housing market already entered the beginning of an unsustainable burst? Some of us may have knee jerk opinions, but the topic is complex, has billion dollar
implications locally and trillion dollar implications nationally so it deserves more structured conversation than gabbing over food.

I've got ideas about how to structure the content and conversation, but glad to do that INDEPENDENTLY. Boston Bubble readers may not know that the Real Estate Cafe coined the phrase "Bubble Hour" and launched the first series in 2006. So we're willing to maintain a separate track confident we'll co-create synergy to counter bidding war hype and help homebuyers make more informed decisions.

				| Yes, there is a meeting tonight at 7PM at Pujab, which is 485 Mass Ave in Arlington. Note: this is not Punjabi Tadka, which is a few doors down and also on Mass ave. I've made a reservation for six people.

				| Yeah it was great sorry we missed you. I don't think we have an organizer for the meetups RealEstateCafe. Would you be interested in taking the job? I'm not really local so it's hard for me to do it here. You make a good point about investors but maybe we should see after the first meetup?
As to the questions for the President, thanks for the link. Given the short time constraint, I submitted this question:

  	  | Quote: | | Mr President, the cornerstone of American affordable housing policy has long been demand side. Why hasn't supply side been considered as well? It seems like Federal policy encouraging construction of new housing stock, especially in high demand areas rich with employment opportunities, would be far more effective at increasing housing affordability, not to mention promoting growth and reducing unemployment. |

I couldn't tell how they're going to pick which to submit to the President but if its by likes, well then please like mine but if others are any guide probably mine won't be selected.

On an unrelated note, they took our jobs!

Thank you for the suggestion. Are you referring to the newly formed MeetUp group below, or is that group separate from this group, the original "Boston Bubble"?

 FLASHBACK:

“Bubble Hour” banned in Boston? (April 21, 2005)
 http://realestatecafe.com/2005421bubble-hour-banned-in-boston-html/

Glad BostonBubble.com stepped in to fill this void:

"With Boston.com reporting that traffic on their real estate section surpassed 7 million pageviews for the first time in March 2005 and more than 1 million homes-for-sale searches, isn’t it fair to ask if consumers should think twice before rushing into an overheated housing market and to give them a forum — online and off — to learn more about the risks and benefits of buying in a real estate bubble?

To dismiss that question as spam seems to have been a disservice to CraigsList users."

				| Just as the chatter about the housing bubble is getting interesting, see latest threads on
 http://bit.ly/SiliCONthis

The proposed Boston Bubble MeetUp has reached "D-Day," time for a show of hands:

 1. Save the Boston Bubble Meetup, or

 2. Let the Boston Bubble MeetUp phase out.

Regardless of the vote, RealEstateCafe will continue to host Bubble Hours, as we have on and off since 2005. Here are some of the topics that were proposed for discussion last night:

Glad to repeat or do Google Hangouts "on demand" for individuals or small groups online (or off).
