I heard from a friend that if I were to contract a home builder on a previously purchased land that they would charge varying amounts depending on which town its being built. Is that true?
For instance If i were to contract a builder to build a 200K house (just construction costs) on a piece of land in Newton vs land in Marlboro that i would be charged differently. A small variation is acceptable but I hear that it would be dramatically different as they would charge based on $/sq.feet as per town.

This would be why you would get multiple bids, (estimates)

Negotiation is the key.

Modular construction , in my opinion ,
is the way to go .

Any less than 3 estimates for every phase of construction
is foolhardy .

Hope this helps .
