For the entire Middlesex South District, in Jan/Feb 2008, we recorded 150 foreclosure deeds and 359 orders of notice. For the same two months in 2007, we recorded 64 foreclosure deeds and 293 orders of notice.

Ouch....

Thanks for the info. Could you post a link to where you found that?

Thanks,

Admin,

Sure,

http://www.masslandrecords.com/malr/controller

Suffolk County for the same dates:

For the entire Suffolk County, in Jan/Feb 2008, we recorded 232 foreclosure deeds and 453 orders of notice. For the same two months in 2007, we recorded 79 foreclosure deeds and 374 orders of notice

All you need to do is select "Document Search" from the tabs at the top, next select either "Foreclosure Deed" or "Order of Notice" from the drop down box, enter the dates you desire and away you go.

Note:

Terms and selections may vary between registry, for example,
Middlesex uses "order of notice" while Suffolk uses "order" . Good luck....

Hi, I'm a title examiner who mostly works in Suffolk. There are 282 foreclosure deeds from 1/1/2008 to 3/10/2008 3:15pm. You need to check both registered and recorded land when you do a registry search. Also, the indexing done by the Registry of Deeds is often not accurate, as they'll call Foreclosure Deeds either Unit Deeds or Deeds, so you're not really getting the true picture unless you do an exhaustive search of the lenders (which I did not, so there may be more than 282 deeds). But the cursory fdd search is good enough for statistical use.

woops, forgot to say there were 232 jan/feb recorded land foreclosure deeds and 10 jan/feb registered land foreclosure deeds, so 242 total foreclosure deeds (or at least those that were indexed as foreclosure deeds) in Suffolk.
