Gone are the days of having a few days to think about a house purchase, in this climate you have to make a decision extremely quickly. Talk about pressure. And then having to compete with people who are willing and/or able to pay 50-$100K over asking? Oy. I guess renting ain't so bad after all.
Anyone else notice the Comments on boston.com has disappeared? I used to enjoy reading the comments in the R.E. section but they have mysteriously gone away in recent weeks. |

You still have a few days to think about your purchase - just make sure you have an inspection contingency. |

There are no offers being accepted with inspection contingency. houses are so hot right now that no offers are accepted with an inspection contingency. |

I'm the same poster as above. I just had an offer accepted with ALL contingencies intact, in Arlington. |

There doesn't seem to be an ending for this madness. |

You might be surprised by some of the stats emerging in supposedly red hot markets like Somerville. This national article has been informing and influencing client negotiations, and seller expectations:
Is Housing Springing Forward. . .Or Falling Back?

I love the madness. As long as the FED not raising interest above 5%, this kind of panic dumping money for house will continue. This will plant seeds of evil into people's financial life, and waiting for a trigger event to cause a 2008 financial storm all over.
$15 dollar minimum wage is what the government try to do to cover up all shitty situations ultra low interest rate caused, and that will further drive up home price for a even deadlier fall in the future.
With all these covering acts to delay the inevitable, it is hard to understand who push us into this shitty situation, and who we should be angry with. Just in case you are one of those confused, angry dude out there, it is the money printing act that suck your hard earned money dry. |
