I don't think they expected to generate any direct sales from the spam. The spam was probably meant as link farming. They try to produce as many links to their websites as possible as links can increase Google ranking and therefore drive more sales indirectly. Of course, that won't work here because I will delete it. Not that they care - unfortunately, a lot of this spamming is automated, so they don't have much disincentive to spam as many forums as possible. Last night was far worse than ever. I woke up to several hundred new posts that needed to be deleted (one or two posts is typical).
