What do you guys think of this town? I couldn't find much school info about the town at schooldigger.com.
Its a more affordable town near where I work - and it would be closer to the tech jobs around 495.
I'm going to be driving around there today. Just wanted everyone's thoughts. |

| The schools are not good. My friend moved to Bolton because of that. Marlborough is not bad but certainly not very good.I Few neighborhoods of Marlborough and Hudson are pretty good though. |

Marlborough has probably the best school in the state - the new charter school. I believe the website is this:

Public schools in the area tried to close them down, not because they are bad, but because they pull the best students out of the public schools, and many students all over the region want to come there as well - but the preference is given to Marlborough students, and the test play the lottery. This is basically private school education for free. If I lived in Marlborough, that's the only school I'd consider. I believe it has both the middle/high schools. |

| I drove through the town and didn't like it so much. The houses were on very small parcels on hilly terrain. Very hard to park your car in the driveway. I can only imagine what it would be like in the winter. |

| Plan on commuting on 90 if you do. I just drove there and back on 20 at off peak times yesterday. It was horrible. 55 min each way. |

We just went under contract in sudbury, ending 2 years of doomsearching. If schools and distance to 495/boston are your 2 factors, I think you can't really go wrong around this area. The few not so good towns are obvious. Everywhere else is really good. Join me in sudbury  |

THe two biggest problems with Subury is you pay more for your home to have the Sudbury name in your address like a few other towns near Boston but even more importantly half of your pay check every month goes to taxes just to live there. You can find just as good and better schools on the north shore for significantly less taxes per year but you will have a longer commute to the Waltham area (where I work). We ruled Sugbury and Acton out the first week we started researching places to buy. |

Congratulations! Seems a nice town with a lot of advantages. At the same time, it is not as expensive as Wellesley and Newton. It looks even cheaper than Needham and Westwood.
Any comments on the several condo projects in town, such as Mahoney Farms and Grouse hills? |
