When the jobs come back, so will the buyers/borrowers.
Until then... well, let's just say I'm holding onto my rental properties despite losing money on them most months.
If cities want their housing markets to recover, they should start by offering incentives to employers & businesses to set up shop there.
Along that same line of logic, I think we'll see much slower real estate recoveries in rural areas, far from where jobs start appearing.
