This report by the Joint Economic Committee is more telling than realtytrac! Keep in mind this is only tallying up to 2007 and nothing in 2008.

In Q4 2007 145,854 prime mortgages were serviced in Maine. There were 5,061 delinquencies and 1,386 homes in foreclosure.

In Q4 2007 23,204 subprime mortgages were serviced in Maine. There were 4,318 delinquencies and 2,613 homes in foreclosure.

By the end of 2007, Maine had 3,999 homes in foreclosure and 9,379 homes in default.
