Now that more horrible housing reports have hit the news,

how long will it be before the National Assoc of Realtors
release a pr news blurb telling us how great home ownership is,
and how now is the time to buy, and if u dont get in now,
you will regret it Rolling Eyes

my lifetime experience has told me the worst advice you get
is from professionals like realtors and lawyers Exclamation

Kim Blanton reports that within the 495 Belt, single family homes only dropped 3.2 percent. AND the median price was $460k versus $322.5 for the State. Now the "State" includes the homes within the 495 Belt , so the homes outside the 495 Belt must be significantly less than $322.5k.

I didn't think the housing prices were that much more expensive within 495. Knowing this we should think about not comingling data with the areas outside. I mean we should be getting data for household salaries within the 495 Belt so we can do an apples to apples comparison.

I know the experts will frown on this, but I actually look at zillow for price trends. They have comps and you can see when they sold for, what their peak value was and the local market trend for that price point. You know, there are subtle differences. Each town has it's own fingerprint. I think the people that are most frustrated are the ones looking at trendy towns that just got out of control from a price standpoint and still have a ways to go to correct.
