Is Boston’s Real Estate Bubble Unpoppable?
http://bit.ly/BosREBubbleAble

Boston Magazine bullet points some national market trends, and without citing any local stats, then posits "...Taken together, it could all point to a party that’s about to end."

But two housing experts, neither of whom lives in Boston, counter with macro reasons about why the cooling housing market doesn't necessarily translate into falling prices (even though one admits, "I’m not shy about saying that things feel bubbly”).

The final word goes not to a homebuyer or disappointed seller, but a local expert without mentioning that his 32-year career has, in his words, "concentrated on leasing and investment sale activities."

"James Elcock, president and managing partner at Colliers International Boston, is particularly bullish on this point, saying, 'I wouldn’t say that we’re bulletproof, but if anything happens to Boston, it’s going to be a dimmer switch' rather than a crash."

What's your take? Will buy the tasting flights for homebuyer who'd like to talk offline this evening at #REonTap (limit 4 people). Share with a friend who joins us, and we'll send you a gift certificate from Restaurant.com.

Gotta love a brewer who has a beer called "Meltdown." It's not on the menu tonight, but they're hosting an event tonight in Cambridge. See details and taste beer samples courtesy of @SixPoint:

@bsg16 -- Let me know what works for you, and glad to see what we work out. Are there specific trends, topics or anything you'd like to discuss? Buyers, any anecdotes you'd like to share about what's happening on the street level?

Here are some idea starters:

This weekend marks the 245th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. If the housing market is beginning to tip, time for homebuyers to celebrate with our own Boston Realty Party or at least some beers at #REonTap?

Glad to look back on the Best & Worst of 2018 from the homebuyer's perspective. A headline yesterday made me cheer:

Goodbye to bidding wars: Some of the hottest housing markets are falling the hardest

What headlines have made your cheer or scream this year?
