Anyone else here find that buying insurance is ridiculous? I've tried getting quotes from MetLife, Northwestern, and Unum and learned that the only way to get a quote is to have them call you back, which seems like a bad policy when you're trying to make money. MetLife responded after 2 days, Northwestern never responded (after 4 days), and I had to ask an operator to get the phone number of a sales rep at Unum, who I left a message with and am now waiting a callback from. Also, the policy that I was quoted from MetLife costs about 5x comparable group plans. Is the cost of these plans regulated by the state? Not very housing related but I'm starting to suspect that real estate agents might be doubling as insurance sales agents.
