Yes, that book didn't mention many specifics. I think they talked about Bear Stearns and Northern Rock and that was it.

When the FED speaks it is also that distilled language where they don't speak about the specific inputs but rather the logical formula.

That guy Maxwell sound like an amazing guy; too bad he died at age 47.

Let me know if you have any other books that you recommend. Thanks...

Along with not mentioning the CRA or Barney Frank, he writes a book about Central Banking but fails to mention:

From above:

Fixed exchange to US Dollar removed
On 21 July 2005, the peg was finally lifted, which saw an immediate one-off RMB revaluation to 8.11 per USD.[23] The exchange rate against the euro stood at 10.07060 yuan per euro.

the paper above is an analyst that is tracking the policy of the Yuan tracking a basket of currencies and looking at how they make their adjustments.

This guy Cooper has to write a book about the global situation.

This is a great article (below), it weighs Paul Krugman's point of wanting Obama to enocurage China to strenghen it's currency versus the lessons learned in the Plaza Accord back in the 80's where a similar tactic was used with Japan and Japan just increased it's cheap capital expansion within their own nation resulting in their lost decade.
