I'm noticing my number of posts is shockingly high. Is there any kind of prize or end game here? |

Yes - fame and immortality. Maybe a beer too. John P still has us all beat, though.

Also, if our true identities were ever discovered it is unlikely that any of us could ever run for a major office now. |

If you discount the ones that I've focused on my bulldog, Lynard Skynard, Will Ferrell, Obama rants, Deval Patrick rants, and other dribble, I'd have less than Dorchester Grandma.
I'd pay a hundred bucks to meet Steverino b.t.w. That guy was a funny bastard. |

And then there's the posts about the number of posts. One wonders if they are made just for the purpose of increasing the count. It's not doing me much good as long as you keep replying to them though! |

Getting a good deal today is like shooting fish in a barrel.
During the bubble years, people needed to be open minded enough to see that things might go down. Today, people need to be open minded to the notion that things might start going back up. I like to make sure people are comfortable with the basis of their diagnostics and try to kick the tires a bit, sometimes I get people saying, "I think I need to go back and benchmark the Price to Earnings ratio to see what's current in Boston..."
I find myself lucky to have stumbled onto a subject matter that is complex enough to be engaging and a community that has some exceptionaly bright people. Think about how life would be if you didn't have the insight that we've been able to pick up together. I mean, I'm still confused, but I've got a sense of how the pieces and parts work. The fact that this subject matter has been the leading edge to the global financial market correction has just excited alot of curiosity as the forces just continue to run and run.
Take this, three years ago, I envisoned the real estate market like a roller coaster: there were people who were ahead of the curve looking down the next dip but were held up by the people behind them who were still going upward. Six months ago, I started looking at the people ahead of he curve as being of a different physical consistency, almost like how markets call these people as "early adapters". The conservatives tend to be more laggards (except in financial restraint), so you have to look at the chemical excitement and the demographics of who is suceptable to what mojo. Today, I'm looking at how people are just rearranging the whole dam rollercoaster. If the context were to calm down, I'd post a lot less. What is funny is that I'm pretty sure I said that if the capitalistic forces did not purge out the irresponsible that we would end up with a socialist. I said this before I even knew who Barack Obama was. What makes my thoughts often times uncomfortable is that when you have all these governments significantly adjusting their currencies for self serving purposes, things might get ugly. I am afraid that certain regions of the world will go too far socialistic and governments will control trade and won't allow private ownership of assets which will restrict trade. Nations that have too strong a central government tend to fail and prior to their failure, they realize that they've got to either become a predator or starve. If the Soviets had a chance of beating us they would have when things got ugly for them. The world will never know the negative impacts of that because guys like Reagan and Bush made us strong enough to prevent a starving superpower from becoming a predator. Nobody ever gives credit for what might have happened, but believe me, if the Soviets did not have our military keeping them in check, they would have become predators instead of starving and breaking down like they did. Now, Putin wants to consolidate the power and he must be salivating with Obama in office. The thing you have to worry about in socialism is that following the warm and fuzzy socialist is the predator who uses the powers that we gave to the warm and fuzzy guy. The predator is who we have to worry about and that guy is coming. |
