The U.S. Housing Market Bubble Races Toward a Crash as Foreclosures Jump

Some might dismiss the CNN headline above as clickbait but it's still rippling across Twitter -- thus far without any critical commentary. Arguably, Boston will be insulated from any crash; but surprisingly, last month GBAR suggested that housing prices have peaked locally too:

What implications does that have from Millennials who were trying to buy before rates go back up, and boomers sellers who fear they may have missed the top of the market?

Glad to discuss those questions and hear other perspectives this evening over beer, aka #REonTap. Wifi permitting, can also share slides from a presentation at the National Association of Realtor conventions on the Top 10 Trends Affecting Real Estate in 2020. That sobering overview ended with “prepare for the downturn.” That should cause caution lights to flash — even in Cambridge.

Anyone want to talk about implications or express scepticism in person, offline perhaps at Cambridge Common Restaurant this evening?
