I guess for everyone wishing and hoping their property values would skyrocket if amazon hq2 came here is outta luck! Long Island city and Arlington are the picks.

Arlington Virginia, to avoid confusion with Arlington Mass.

Even without HQ2, just 12 startups worth 1billion each will probably result in 12k jobs over the next 3 years (reasonable to assume 1000 employees each given such valuations)

This doesn't even include the 2000 high paying jobs Amazon will expand to Seaport (unrelated to HQ2)

I think the biggest point of the HQ2 speculation earlier was that it would have been a large anchor that was especially resilient against recessions.

Yes, I agree with other guest that Boston will continue to grow in terms of jobs, and lots of start ups will continue to land here - however the influx of those jobs vs 50k Amazon hq2 isn’t quite comparable and it’s not going to cause the massive property value gain Amazon would have. That being said, I do believe amazon had already probably picked nyc and just turned that whole bidding system from cities into a way to get a massive tax break in NYC and DC - and it worked.
