they are all places where their is a limited ability to increase density

Two points. First, editing? "there". Second, which places don't have a limited ability to increase in density? Sadly, I think the article is correct, that Manhattan is cheaper. In fact, parts of Manhattan are even cheaper than much of Boston's inner suburbs!

Here's a third: density limitations around Boston aren't new. Attributing high an rising prices to the limitations ignores the fact that the limitations were also around for the last several years while prices were falling.

That one too. The demand supply curve has always been imbalanced, probably even less so in the last 5 years and still rising prices. Nope, couldn't be anything else! Amazing that 3br and 2k sf in Brookline now costs about a million dollars. I have family and friends who bought stuff like that only 5 years ago at almost half the price. Let's hope I don't get promoted back then.

In any case, I'll be back in town week of April 21st if you all want to get together again.

Sounds good to me. Sorry in the delay in getting back to you on that, and especially your emails - I've been slammed with work this month. I'm hoping that will have eased up by the 21st.
